Top notch material. Thick, dense wool that looks and feels great. Casual style with a touch of class that fits in both in the field and on the town. Cut sufficiently to be able to wear a sweater or flannel under it. It's a well made traditionally styled jacket that will serve for years to come. The coat fit as expected and the wool is both warm and durable - I used this coat to tap maple trees in 3-5⁰f without so much as snag or a loose fiber. A button-in liner would be a welcome improvement (I'm contemplating ordering a SK wool vest as a companion piece to layer with this coat). Another improvement would be to lower the hand-warmer pockets to be more accessible; or alternatively, adding flaps and deepening the pocket to be a secure breast pocket. Otherwise, I love it - I own two and I'm happy with bothexcellent quality. very well made, is roomy and comfortable. extremely satisfied with my purchase.DescriptionI'm 5'8" around 215lbs. Around 48" chest, 38" waist. I purchased an XL charcoal wool Mackinaw.LikeThe materials and construction are top notch. Stiching, wool, buttons, etc are great. This thing also looks beautiful hanging on the hook. It is warm. I really want to love this coat, but the design leaves something to be desired.DislikeThe design. The sleeves are too long. The waist of the coat has excess material at the waist that bunches out. The chest slash pockets are too high up to be comfortable using to warm your hands.End result. I need the coat for this winter. I'm going to try to find someone that can modify the coat to fit me better.Suggestions to the manufacturerLook at modifying the design.- positioning of the hand warmer pockets on the chest- waist size; reduce it or find a way to enable the user to cinch it- sleeve length; shorten or find a way to shorten- offer a separate button-in liner that can be purchased separately to go with the coat - shearling- offer a separate button-on matching hoodPros: Looks excellent and classic. Warm for windy winter days. Great company and outstanding quality coat. Collar stands up to block wind from neck. Add a scarf for very cold days. Love this coat!Cons: lower pockets are for hands only but they don’t hold keys well. Chest pockets are in awkward position to access and are shallow. Flap pockets with buttons are nice. No interior pockets which would be nice.I saw reviews that it fit large, a medium fits perfect with a layer below.Kept me warm and looking good in the Chicago winter. Made right here in the USA! The coat is made by Yoopers, so it will last!Great quality, made in Michigan. needed an intermediate coat to go with my Filson double. It does run BIG. Originally ordered a large and it was MASSIVE, had to return it to get a medium which fits me like a large normally does. Ordered one for my brother, but they don't make a small so he has a medium. Wish they made a small since they run so large.
