For years I had those colonial style coach lights on either side of my garage door, same as most of my neighbors. Everyone buys these but I never really liked them. They don't seem to fit in with the modern southwestern stucco houses. When the housepainter broke one of mine, I decided I wanted a different look. I looked on Amazon and finally decided on these. They have a unique look which seems to straddle contemporary and traditional. While I'm not sure if these are officially "dark sky" compliant, I also wanted lights that send most of the light down, onto my property, not up in the sky or across the neighborhood. I'm a believer in the "dark sky" conceptThe lights themselves are true to the description. They were packed very well and arrived in perfect condition. They are very lightweight. Mounting was simple. I did have to cut the threaded mounting bolt a little because one of the boxes that was installed in my wall was the shallow type, not the traditional size.Once mounted I was very satisfied with the look. These are very attractive lights, and the globe bulb is a nice combination. I used 15 watt fluorescent globe bulbs (40 watt light equivalent). Even though the light output on these bulbs is less than what I had before, my driveway and yard seem much more illuminated because the light is not being sent up or out outward.Overall I am very satisfied and can recommend them.
