The quality overall is pretty good, but the adjustment locks for the poles are absolutely worthless. I plan on buying some hose clamps to tighten up under the rubber ones on the poles. Should work great after that.I like this product and I think it is being sold at a fair price for what you get.The amount to which it extends and covers ground is amazing. Bigger than expected (even though the dimensions are clear). It is pretty simple to use once installed. I had a bit trouble getting it to roll up exactly how it came out of the box but it still fit nicely into it's cover so I am fine with that. I still have to test it out under full "adventure conditions, but when I do I will amend this review if necessary. It does seem a bit flimsy in regards to the poles but I believe it will hold up for most uses. I'll hold judgement to more windy adventures. I know it comes with a warning on windy conditions. With that being said, where this thing looses a bit of it's charm, is the install: I understand it is tough to make one-size-fits-all solutions, but the included hardware is very basic and with certainty you will have to get extra hardware to make this fit well for your car. I had hoped to use some of the alternative solutions to install it on my car, which has pretty big cross-beams, but not even all the hardware illustrated in the options comes with this set. That was disappointing. No extra cross beam metal pieces to strap it across your carrier beam. No T-Bolts of any kind.I eventually got something off of amazon, but it cost me another nice extra penny that adds to the overall price of this thing.Once installed it feels way more sturdy than I expected. That's definitely a plus. I have to drive with this thing on for hundreds of miles most likely, so it better stay in place. Again, we'll see how it fairs when the rubber meets the road, but so far so good.Ok so I have to say I am quite impressed by this awning. I was a little weary due to the cheap price. The quality of the tarp is great! I have used it in wind and rain with no issues. It was a quick and easy install and mounted right to the side of my cargo basket. The only issue I have with it is the twist locks on the legs. No matter how much I twist them they never seem to lock. This may be operator error but either way it will not be an issue as it will surely be an easy fix. All in all I would highly recommend this awning and would definitely purchase one again in the future! Great customer service. Contacted quickly and was quick to offer help with the leg locks.I was looking for a good, smaller, awning for my ‘05 Subaru Legacy, and this one has fit that need. The installation and setup is pretty easy for one person. The construction is on par with what I expected at this price point. The stitching for the Velcro straps look like they could tear the awning material if they are pulled too fast. The poles are sturdy once they are locked in. I set this up in 20 mph wind to inspect everything, and it seemed like it would be fine if I left it up.I could tell from the photos that the hardware this came with wouldn’t mount to the rack on my car. The brackets worked well, but I had to find some stainless t-bolts that would fit the channel of the crossbars. I used more than needed to be confident that it would stay on the car. There weren’t any issues driving down the road at 70 mph, and no additional wind noise on my setup.Overall, I recommend this awning. Just don’t set your expectations to unrealistic levels, and be prepared to get creative with the mounting hardware if the parts included don’t work for the specific application. Finally, don’t over-tighten the nuts/bolts that attach the awning to the brackets. I could see the bolt heads spinning in the channel if they are over-tightened. The included nuts are locking nuts, so torquing these down ridiculous amounts is unnecessary. The awning material is decent quality. I have 2 things I would have like to see different.- The pole locks are really cheap and difficult to lock.- I wish the mounts came with washers to shore up uneven applicationHave it for about 2 months now and have used it several times. Even though you could set up alone it stresses the legs and the pegs and could damage your vehicle. My advise is: always have a partner and open it on the direction of the wind. Working against front or crosswind is a nightmare until you finish the process.Overall, great product for the price. Seems more suitable for light to medium duty.I really wanted to love this awning. I was a huge fan when it first arrived. It installed so easily and it was simple to set up. We got about 4 good uses out of it on our camping trips and was super useful in sunny weather. It didn't last a year though. One of the main reason we got it was to have a place to hide under when it rained. We got caught in a rain storm one-night camping in Virginia and one of the poles snapped in two. It's reasonably priced compared to other retractable awnings. I just wish it was more durable!UPDATE: got in touch with customer service and they responded immediately. Sending a replacement because I’m under the one year warranty. Excellent customer care. Highly recommend.I wasn't expecting that much coming from a 400$ awning and in all intent and purposes, it does the job well. There are just a few things that are a bit annoying:1. The legs support can't be locked at a certain height and position.it's not too bad once there's tension on them, but it makes the process of setting the awning much more painful2. I feel like the fabric isn't the most resistant and I can see the seams pulling away a bit when undoing velcros which makes me a bit worried, but if you're careful, that's probably fine.3. This one might be a no-brainer, but since the awning is all rolled up, you can't just partly take it out like you would on a proper RV awning. This is not a big deal, but make sure that you go for a size that will fit in most circumstances.Overall it does its job well and it's fairly sturdy once it's setup, but I would recommend being two people to set it up especially if there's a mild windLove this awning easy to install add no issues. Only issue was with shipping fees with ups. Yet still came in alot earlier then predicted date. Used it once up till now only been couple weeks since install and happy with it. My only concern. It is not of a canvas material but more of tent style material which helps keep the weight down. By so i will treat it with a product in the spring to help it last as long as possible. I got the 5x6.5Only took me a min to pop it up open. Will be adding more pics soon.L’installation est assez simple mais les boulons ne sont pas assez long pour un toit en fibre de verre, cela a nécessité un peu de débrouillardise.La qualité est ok sans plus, mais cela va faire la job rapport qualité/prixBon camping !I mounted this awning on my 2006 Grand Caravan in no time. It works very well for our purposes!! It is on the passenger side for ease of access to the van. We will add 6x8 tarps to help shade even more.Used the awning a couple times. Easy setup. It's not as heavy duty as I hoped but it does the job. Great customer service also. I needed a replacement pole because the one wouldn't lock and the company sent it out and it came within a week.
